Kodunthirapully Swaminatha Iyer

 

Kondunthirapully Swaminatha Iyer, a close comrade of Palghat Mani Iyer, learned the art initially from Tanjore Ponniah Pillai and later he got the opportunity to learn from mridangam maestro Thanjavur Sri Vaidyantha Iyer in the Annamalai University for two years and after the University discontinued the course,he started "GURUKULAVASAM" training under Thanjavur Sri Vaidyanatha Iyer. Later he also got lessons from Mridangam Maestro Sri Palghat  Mani Iyer in Palghat. Sri Swaminatha Iyer was also very efficient in teaching mridangam.He has many eminent disciples too.
